<p>PURPOSE:To prevent a leak at a gap among an exhaust gas filter, a cylindrical seal material and a semi-cylindrical filter case. CONSTITUTION:Regarding an exhaust gas recirculation type internal combustion engine, an exhaust gas filter 1 for filtrating fine particles in recirculation exhaust gas is formed to be a circular cylinder, and a cylindrical seal material 2 is externally coupled to the outer surface of the filter 1. In addition, the external surface of the seal material 2 is formed, so as to be clamped and fixed with semi-cylindrical filter cases 6a and 6b divided in a lengthwise direction at the side of an exhaust gas flow. Exhaust gas pipes 11 and 12 are connected to the inlet and outlets of the cases 6a and 6b, and the diameter of the cases 6a and 6b is made larger than the diameter of the pipes 11 and 12. Also, doughnut step sections of different diameter are formed between the pipes 11 and 12, and the cases 6a and 6b. Then, doughnut type seal material 3 and 4 are provided at the step sections. Furthermore, an escape hole is formed between the filter cases 6a and 6b, and seal materials 3 and 4, for guiding leaking exhaust gas toward an exhaust muffler.</p> |
