<p>PURPOSE: To provide a position adjusting device which has a detecting means for detecting the prescribed relative position, i.e., lock position, of a slider with respect to a seat part, can store the selected position, i.e., previously set position, of the seat part of a seat, and is simple, highly reliable and inexpensive. CONSTITUTION: A control box 4 and an adjusting motor are provided as adjusting means for longitudinally moving a seat part 2 to a selected position. A plurality of switches 6, 8-10 and an automatic shift motor are provided as automatic moving means for displacing the seat part 2 forward to a shift end position when a backrest 3 is folded down and displacing the seat part 2 backward to the selected position when the backrest 3 is brought upright again. A movable slider 11 cooperating with the stop switch 10 is provided as the automatic moving means, the operation of the automatic moving means is stopped when the seat part 2 is displaced backward and when a locking position is detected, and the stopping action is invalidated when the backrest 3 is in a folded down position.</p> |
