<p>PURPOSE: To enable the length of an implantable strip to be adjusted for a wide range, by providing the center wall with circular pleats and the edge wall with axially extending pleats in a tubal implantable strip to be used for repairing a damaged part or treating an affected part of a tube like a blood vessel within a body. CONSTITUTION: This implantable strip 10 comprises a cylinder made of a thin wall extending longitudinally with a first opening edge 12 and a second opening edge 14, and a space between both edge parts 12 and 14 is made as a center part 20 provided with a lot of circularity extending pleats and so extensible axially. A lot of pleats extending axially are provided respectively on the walls of the edge parts 12, 14, and thus enables the edge parts 12, 14 to extend radially. When extending, the width of each pleat is restricted so as to extend within the range of about 3% to 20% of the groove diameter of the pleat. This implantable strip 10 is preferably so formed that the diameter of the both edges 12, 14 is larger than that of the center part 20. This provides the implantable strip to be properly used for the blood vessel whose inner diameter is reduced due to a disease.</p> |
