PURPOSE:To obtain the ink, capable of providing fast prints and excellent in discharging stability by dissolving a resin in a medium comprising water and a water-soluble organic solvent and dispersing a hydrophobic colorant selected from an oil-soluble dye or a disperse dye and a pigment therein. CONSTITUTION:This ink contains (a) water (e.g. pure water or ultrapure water such as ion exchange water or ultrafiltration water), (B) a water-soluble organic solvent having a lower vapor pressure than that of water (preferably ethylene glycol, propylene glycol, 1,3-butanediol, etc.), (C) at least one hydrophobic colorant selected from an oil-soluble dye, a disperse dye and a pigment soluble in the component (B) and (D) a resin, prepared by copolymerizing a water-soluble monomer with an oil-soluble monomer, having an oil-soluble part which is a segment having >=3 number of recurring units and soluble in the components (A) and (B). |
