PURPOSE:To obtain the ink, containing a specific hydrophobic colorant and a rosin derivative soluble in water-soluble organic solvents, excellent in abrasion, water and light resistances, capable of providing fast prints and excellent in discharging stability. CONSTITUTION:This water-based ink jet recording ink contains (A) water, (B) a water-soluble organic solvent having a lower vapor pressure than that of water, (C) a hydrophobic colorant selected from an oil-soluble dye, a disperse dye and a pigment soluble in component (B) and (D) a rosin derivative. The component (D) has any of carboxyl, OH, amino groups or salts thereof and is soluble in the component (B). For example, a (hydrogenated)rosin is used as the component (D) and the components (A) and (B) are preferably mixed at a mixing ratio thereof so as to provide <=30dyn/cm surface tension of the ink and <=50cP viscosity of the ink at 5 deg.C. |
