<p>PURPOSE: To switch a part of the reception means of a mobile station to a power saving mode and to reduce power consumption by detecting the success of the reconstitution of a signal message based on the information of receiving only the prescribed part of the signal message. CONSTITUTION: A base station reports that a call is originated to the mobile station by a paging message. Since the page message is interleaved inside four time slots in a GSM system for instance, the message can be reconstituted based on correctly received first two time slots only. Based on the 'signal-to-noise' ratio of reception signals, a bit detection part 12 supplies whether or not received data are provided with an error to a channel decoder 15 as output 20. The decoder 15 supplies the information for valid reconstitution to this controller 19. In the case that the reconstitution is possible, the controller 19 switches a receiver 9 to the power saving mode and enables the saving of about 50%. In the case that the reconstitution is impossible due to a reception error, a third time slot is received and the reconstitution is performed. In this case, the saving of about 25% is performed.</p> |
