A C8-C20 hydrocarbon well treatment fluid has at least 10% by weight diamondoids and a sufficient quantity of aromatics to maintain solubility of the diamondoids in the fluid at 20.degree.C and atmospheric pressure. A method of producing a well treatment fluid by obtaining a hydrocarbon feedstock known to contain diamondoids, and treating the hydrocarbon feedstock by distillation to increase diamondoid content and thereby produce a well treatment fluid. A method of treating a well by obtaining a hydrocarbon well treatment fluid known to contain diamondoids and sufficient aromatics to maintain solubility of the diamondoids in the fluid at 20.degree.C and atmospheric pressure, and circulating the well treatment fluid in a well to remove asphaltenes from the well.
