PURPOSE:To measure a separation distance between a moving body and a base station on the side of the moving body in the case of the moving body which is moved along an overhead line and rails that are from the base station. CONSTITUTION:By inputting the output signal of a high stability oscillator 31 in a base station 3 through an overhead line 4 and a brush 21 and conducting frequency conversion by means of a high stability oscillating device 14 of the same frequency as that of the oscillator 31 and a mixer 11, Doppler frequency is outputted. A separation distance is calculated by integrating this Doppler frequency by means of an F/V converter 12 and an integrator 13.
