<p>PURPOSE: To maintain the constant output irrespective of the altitude by detecting the compressor outlet pressure during the operation at the atmospheric pressure different from the specified pressure, comparing it with the stored pressure, and maintaining the outlet pressure according to the result by setting a bypass valve of a turbocharger to a required position. CONSTITUTION: While an engine 11 is operated, the absolute pressure from an outlet sensor 52 of a compressor 28 in a turbocharger 19 is read, and stored together with an engine speed input. Then, the read value is compared with the stored value of the outlet absolute pressure of the compressor 28 at the engine speed in the atmospheric condition of the normal sea level, and the opening of an outlet gate valve 22 which is a bypass valve to bypass a turbine 18 is changed according to the deviation. When the atmospheric pressure is higher than that on the sea level, the outlet gate valve 22 is kept closed. The outlet gate valve 22 is opened when the engine is operated at the altitude lower than the sea level (e.g. in a canyon).</p> |
