PURPOSE:To prevent a connection part from being corroded, by a method wherein the surface of a metallic connector between woody building materials or between a woody building material and an unwoody building material is either plated with copper or coated with a paint containing copper and is covered with copper or a coat containing copper. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a metallic connector for wood structure, such as a hurricane strap, a floor joint holder, a connector between a column and a beam, and a strap bolt, which metallic connector is formed of a metallic material such as steel, brass, aluminum or the like, is covered with copper or a coat containing copper. For example, when sills 3 and a corner post 2 are fastened to a foundation, a metallic connector 1 for a framework is fastened to the corner post 2 with fastening bolts 5. After that, the connector 1 is fastened to the sills 3 with nails 9 and a bottom plate 8 of the connector 1 is fastened to the foundation with an anchor bolt 6 and a nut 7. Framework members connected in such a way have enough the strength of connection. Furthermore, the connector 1 is prevented from rusting owing to moisture, and woody parts at which the connector 1 is brought into contact with the framework members are prevented from decomposing owing thereto. In this way, the durability of a wooden building can be improved.
