PURPOSE:To provide an ink jet recording device capable of improving image quality by forming dots of low height on an intermediate transfer body without using a heating means of the intermediate transfer body. CONSTITUTION:A record head 2 heats and melts a heat melting ink 1 and makes the ink fly to an intermediate transfer body 3 arranged oppositely in accordance with image information. On the surface of the intermediate transfer body 3, a heat conductive resistance layer 4 is provided. The heat of the heat melting ink 1 stuck to the surface of the intermediate transfer body 3 flows out to the intermediate transfer body 3 through the heat conductive resistance layer 4. At this time, heat radiation takes time due to the heat conductive resistance layer 4 and changing to a solid phase becomes slow. Thus, the heat melting ink 1 expands to the surface of the intermediate transfer body 3 until it is solidified and dots of low height are formed. The heat melting ink 1 stuck to the surface of the intermediate transfer body 3 is pressed and transferred to a record medium 5 for recording. |
