PURPOSE:To attain the maximum throughput without causing defective paper conveyance even when paper sheets of different sizes are continuously fed. CONSTITUTION:A paper feed roller 107 is driven, and the paper is conveyed to the position of a registration sensor 110 and stopped. When image deployment is completed, an engine controller makes the conveyance control and a printing action of the paper. The time when the paper passes through an inversion sensor 116 is measured, this time is compared with the data of a passable paper size data table, and the paper size is decided. A double-face unit 114 conveys the tip of the paper to the position of a paper refeed sensor 119 when the inversion sensor 116 detects the absence of paper. The engine controller sets the paper feed timing from a paper feed port after the paper conveyance is started based on the paper size and feeds the paper. |
