PURPOSE:To prevent flame failure generated due to the repetition of the ignition and extinction of a burner by a method wherein fuel and combustion air are supplied to the burner of respective heat accumulation type burner devices to continue combustion when a temperature in a furnace is lower than the igniting temperature of mixture of fuel and combustion air. CONSTITUTION:The internal temperature of a furnace 10 is measured and when the result of measurement is lower than an igniting temperature, fuel supplying valves 11, 12, combustion air supplying valves 24, 28 and an exhaust valve 36 are opened. Next, fuel and combustion air are supplied to respective burners of a pair of heat accumulation type burner devices 2, 3 to effect continuous combustion while exhaust gas, generated by the combustion, is conducted from the burner 5 to a heat accumulator 7 to heat the same and, thereafter, is discharged by an exhaust gas fan 23 through an exhaust gas releasing valve 29. After a given period of time has elapsed, the burner 4 is brought into non- combustion condition but the burning condition of the burner 5 is continued, then, the burners 4, 5 are switched alternately by switching respective valves. |
