PURPOSE:To make it possible to execute switching of an ordinary performance to a silenced performance with one time of operation with a keyboard musical instrument having moving parts exclusive of stopper mechanisms for the silenced performance. CONSTITUTION:This keyboard musical instrument has hammer mechanisms 40 which strike strings S by turning, the stopper mechanisms 60 which prohibit turning of the hammer mechanisms 40 any more by coming into contact with the hammer mechanisms 40 just before the hammer mechanisms 40 strike the strings S and switching means which switch the ordinary performance state in which the hammer mechanisms 40 strike the strings S to the silenced performance state in which the hammer mechanisms do not strike the strings by moving the stopper mechanism 60 in accordance with the operation of a switch and move the prescribed points 34 of the keyboard musical instrument between the position of the ordinary performance state and the position of the silenced performance state in accordance with the operation of the switch. The switching mean includes driving means for moving the stopper mechanisms 60 and driving means for moving the prescribed points 34 and move the stopper mechanisms 60 and the prescribed points 34 by one time operation of the switch by controlling these driving means.
