The invention relates to a method for mounting vertically arranged busbar sections of busbar trunking systems for energy distribution, and a supporting device for this purpose. During the assembly of busbar trunking systems, especially in high buildings, the problem occurs that the load caused by the intrinsic weight of the rising line in the supporting devices is different, especially the lower are subject to a higher stress. This problem is avoided in a simple manner in that the supporting device has bearing surfaces, the bearing surface which corresponds with the busbar housing being arranged under the bearing surface which corresponds with the carrier which is mounted on the wall or floor, and in that one or more adjusting gauges can be arranged between the bearing surfaces for the purpose of decoupling the busbar sections.
