PURPOSE:To efficiently perform editing operation by evaluating structure editing operation based upon document type definition and displaying evaluated contents by a message. CONSTITUTION:An operation evaluating part 14 receives the operation contents of a requested editing instruction and the structure of an operated document, evaluates whether the operation contents whose edition is instructed is valid or not based document type definition (document class information) stored in, a document class storing part 13 and decides operation contents which can be continuously executed. An evaluation displaying part 15 receives the evaluation result from the evaluating part 14, converts the evaluation result into a character string of a message expressing its contents and sends the message to a display control part 17. The control part 17 displays the character string of the message on a display area of a display screen. Consequently editing operation can be efficiently executed. |
