PURPOSE:To protect a power supply against a failure when DC power is fed from a backup battery for an AC input power supply to a load. CONSTITUTION:The power supply comprises an input rectifier for rectifying power from an AC input power supply, a backup battery 12 for the AC input power supply, a switch means 16 between the input rectifier and the battery, a protective element 14, a thyristor 18 in parallel with the switch means, a current detector 22 for a current through the switch means, and a gate control transistor connected with the gate of the thyristor to be turned ON by the detection signal from the current detector. |
