PURPOSE:To bring a starter motor close to the axial side of a torque converter while securing the advantages of the conventional structure at most. CONSTITUTION:At an adjacent part of a connecting surface and a starter motor 16, a flanged hexagonal bolt 18 is inserted from the outside of a transmission case 12 to be tightened into a female screw 11E of a converter housing 11. At other part, the flanged bolt 18 is inserted from the inner space of the converter housing 11 to be tightened into the transmission case 12 side. At the adjacent part, the starter motor 16 is bring close to the axial side by the amount of the insertion space of a bolt head or a tool that need not be installed on the inner wall side of the converter housing 11. At the same time, a reinforcing rib 11H is provided successively on the inner side of the female screw 11E and the reinforcing rib 11H can increase the rigidity of the box structure.
