PURPOSE:To provide an optical cable terminating device which is installed at the cable landing station of an optical underwater communication system, features the good workability of a surplus length treatment of cable side optical fibers and station side optical fibers and is small in size. CONSTITUTION:This optical cable terminating device has a prescribed quantity of square surplus length treating plates 20 which are disposed with plural saddles 21 for treating and maintaining the surplus lengths of the cable side optical fibers 2 on one half surface and are disposed with plural other saddles 21 for treating and maintaining the surplus lengths of the station side optical fibers 4 on another half surface, pivotal supporting bodies 30 which freely turnably hold the respective one-side corners of the surplus length treating plates 20 mounted to be superposed on each other at prescribed intervals, housing time holders 40 which are disposed within a casing body 10 so as to hold the respective other-side corners of the surplus length treating plates 20 and treating time holders 50 which are disposed within the casing body 10 so as to hold the selected one-side edges of the surplus length treating plates 20 in the state of turning the surplus length treating plates 20 around pins 33 of the pivotal supporting bodies 30. |
