PURPOSE:To make the maintenance of speech quality compatible with reduction in the consumption of a battery by applying effective voice transmission control to the communication equipment while minimizing the adverse effect given onto the speech quality. CONSTITUTION:A speech mode discrimination means 20a of a control circuit 20 monitors on/off operation of a mute key during talking and the operation of a VOX control circuit 15 is controlled according to the VOX on-mode or off-mode designated by other key entry when the mute key is not depressed, and when the mute state is set when the mute key is depressed, the VOX control circuit 15 is revised forcibly into the operating state even when the VOX mode is set to any mode on the other hand, thereby conducting VOX control without fail during the mute period. |
