PURPOSE:To improve reproduced signal quality and to obtain a high density by reproducing a learning area on an optical disk medium and adjusting a reproduced signal compensation characteristic so that an error becomes small. CONSTITUTION:A data area and the learning area are provided on the optical disk medium. The learning area are reproduced, and the learning data of a demodulation binarization data pattern through a modulation means 13, etc., are compared with a fixed teacher pattern by a comparison means 17. A component analysis means 33 according to the comparison result decides the reproduced signal compensation characteristic of a level characteristic and a phase characteristic so that the error becomes small to control a transversal filter 12 of an equivalent means through a control means 34. By adjusting the equivalent means by using the learning area, the reproduced signal quality is improved, and the high density is obtained. |
