PURPOSE:To provide a lightweight thin TN-type liquid crystal display(LCD) with improved angle of visual field characteristics. CONSTITUTION:This liquid crystal display device consists of a liquid crystal cell comprising at least two transparent plastic film electrode substrates and a twist nematic liquid crystal between the substrates, and two polarizing elements on both sides of the cell. The electrode substrate consists of at least a transparent plastic film and is negatively uniaxial with the optical axis tilted by 5 deg. to 50 deg. from the normal line of the plane. |
