PURPOSE:To increase air volume at the time of heating and to improve the operability of a lateral wind direction plate by providing a movable diffuser at the lower part of the air outlet of the indoor unit for an air conditioner and providing the plate at the diffuser. CONSTITUTION:An air filter 8, an indoor heat exchanger 9 and a blower 10 are provided in an air passage 7 for connecting the suction port 5 of a housing 1 to an air outlet 6. A vertical wind direction plate 11 for vertically regulating the supply air to a room is provided in the outlet 6, and a lateral wind direction plate 14 is provided in a movable diffuser 13. At the time of cooling, the plate 11 is substantially horizontally rotated, and the diffuser 13, the plate 14 are held at the positions indicated by broken lines. At the time of heating, the plate 11 is rotated substantially vertically, and the diffuser 13, the plate 14 are rotated to the positions indicated by solid lines. Thus, the flow of warm air at the time of heating is improved, the air volume is increased, and the operation of the plate 14 is easily executed. |
