Liquefaction of hydrogen uses a refrigeration circuit, the fluid of which is mainly hydrogen, and a means of refrigeration using a liq. nitrogen. The cycling fluid comprises H2 and a mixt. of hydrocarbons C2<+>: the hydrocarbons are liquefied and expanded (18-22) giving fluids which vaporise continuously between -120 deg C and ambient temp. Also claimed is the installation for effecting the process. |
