LIGHT EMISSION DEVICE AND IMAGE READ DEVICE USING THE DEVICE

PURPOSE:To simplify the assembling process of the small-sized image read device, to prevent illumination light from being uneven, and to accurately read an image with high reliability by fixing the light emission device directly on the reverse side of a transparent plate. CONSTITUTION:The light emission device 8 emits light to the upper part of the transparent plate 7. A document placed on the transparent plate 7 is irradiated with the light emitted by the light emission device 8 and the light is reflected to the lower part of the transparent plate 7. This reflected light is reflected by a reflecting plate 13 and made incident on a rod lens 15. The light which is converged by the lens 15 is reflected vertically upward by a reflecting plate 17, made incident on a light receiving element 10, and converted into an electric signal.
