<p>PURPOSE:To provide an image pickup device capable of following so that a subject to be photographed recognized by a photographer is kept in a screen. CONSTITUTION:When a photographer fixes his eye on a main subject to be photographed in a finder, the fixing point is detected by a line of sight detector. When the photographer operates a registering switch 415 in this state, a subject registering circuit 416 fetches information on the subject of the fixing point and stores the information on the color, contrast and shape of the subject. The position of the subject in a video signal is detected for every field by an object position detecting circuit 417, based on the information of the registered subject. A correcting angle calculating circuit 418 calculates the driving quantity of a variable apex angle prism 420 for keeping the objected in the center of the screen, based on the detected subject position and a variable apex angle prism driving circuit 419 drives the variable apex angle prism 420 to follow the main subject, based on the set correcting angle.</p> |
