PURPOSE:To provide an optical waveguide which is decreased in internal stresses of a core part. CONSTITUTION:Clad layers 20 on both sides of the core part 30 are partly removed along the core parts 30 and grooves 50 parting the core part and the clad parts are formed in a clad part 25 among clad parts which cover the core part 30 and the core part. Since the core part 30 and the clad part 25 are separated from the clad layers 20 on the circumference, the internal stresses in a direction intersecting with an optical axis direction among the internal stresses of the core part 30 and the clad part 25 are decreased. Part of the core part 30 and part of the clad part 25 covering this part are separated from other parts by the grooves 50 parting the core part 30 and the clad part 25 and, therefore, the internal stresses in a direction along the optical axis direction among the internal stresses of the separated parts are decreased. |
