PURPOSE:To provide a controller for an air conditioner in which the useless energy consumption can be prevented without imparting troublesomeness in operation to an operator. CONSTITUTION:A controller 3 compares the output of a temperature, sensor 1 with that of a temperature setter 2, and outputs the result to an AND gate 7. The output of a human body detecting sensor 5 is input to the gate 7 via a timer circuit 6. In this case, the output of the circuit 6 becomes an 'H' level in the state that the sensor 5 detects a human body. The output of the circuit 6 becomes an 'L' level in the state that the sensor 5 does not detect the body. Accordingly, the controller 3 can control an output circuit 4 only in the state that the sensor 5 detects the body. The output of the gate 7 becomes an 'L' level in the state that the sensor 5 does not detect the body, and power is not supplied to a load.
