<p>PURPOSE:To decrease influences of low temp. and low humidity or high temp. and high humidity, to increase transparency and to enable low temp. fixing and formation of a smooth fixed surface by using a linear polyester as the main component of a binder resin and specifying the range of the grindability index of the binder resin. CONSTITUTION:This electrophotographic toner contains at least a binder resin and a coloring agent. The binder resin essentially consists of a linear polyester and the grindability index of the binder resin is specified to 14 to 40. The linear polyester means such a polyester that has a structure comprising a straight main chain and rather short side chains coupling to the main chain and that can be obtd. by polymn. of bivalent monomers without using tervalent or higher- valence monomers or other crosslinking agents. The linear polyester is used as the main component of the binder resin because, if tervalent or higher-valence monomers are used as a crosslinking component to increase the crosslinking density, the elasticity of polyester increases and the melting rate decreases to decrease the smoothness of the fixing surface.</p> |
