COMPUTER EXTENSION MODULE DEVICE

PURPOSE: To provide an improved expanded module used for a computer system. CONSTITUTION: An expanded module holds a first card having a data processing unit and a related memory connected through a high speed inside local bus, and an outside coupler for an outside peripheral equipment. Also, this device is provided with an expanded coupler for connecting a second expanded card with the first card. This expanded module is provided with a system connector for connecting the expanded module with the lower speed input and output bus of a computer system. The module can house an additional SIMM as a related memory. The module executes electrical shielding and protection from an outside state, by using a side wall or book cover made of a shielding material. The higher rank movability and expandability of a data processing system can be improved by this expanded module.
