摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To attain the same smoothness as a polished glass and to reduce the production cost by forming a silicon ladder polymer film on the light transmissive surface of a 1st substrate and/or 2nd substrate. CONSTITUTION:This matrix type liquid crystal display device has a non-polished glass substrate 9, the 1st substrate 1 composed of the silicon ladder polymer base film 10 formed on the non-polished glass substrate 9 and the 2nd substrate 13, which is arranged to face the 1st substrate 1 at a prescribed gap and composed of the silicon ladder polymer base film 10 formed on the surface of the non-polished glass substrate 9. The raw material of the silicon ladder polymer uses a polymer solution obtained by dissolving a copolymer, a blend polymer or the like in a solvent. And by using the 1st substrate 1 and 2nd substrate 13 composed of the silicon ladder polymer base film 10 formed on the non- polished glass substrate 9, the 1st substrate 1 and 2nd substrate 13 having the same smoothness as the polished glass substrate are obtained and the production cost is extremely reduced.</p>
