PURPOSE:To attain a high speed data transfer network by starting switching at the arrival of a first packet when a necessary partial address is included in the first packet out of plural ones. CONSTITUTION:In the data transfer network consisting of multi-stage switches, switches S00' to S37' execute switching after the arrival of the 1st sub-packet without waiting the arrival of all sub-packets including a transferred address, determines an output port connected to a succeeding switch to which a packet is to be send and then starts the sending of the sub-packet. Namely when a partial address necessary for determining a succeeding switch to which a certain switch is to send a packet is included in the first sub-packet out of plural sub- packets including the partial address to be supplied to the switch, the switch starts switching at the arrival of the 1st packet. |
