PURPOSE:To provide a document editing device which displays a document image in bit map form and reverses and displays an area to be emphasized under the display control of an off-screen memory system. CONSTITUTION:When an image drawing process means 117 draws the document image to be displayed newly in a 2nd image storage means 114, the respective pixels in the area drawn in the 2nd image storage means 114 are regarded as display pixels and display effective pixels, and 1st mask data and 2nd mask data are stored in a 1st mask storage means 115 and a 2nd mask storage means 116. To reverse and displays an area specified as an object of operation, the image in the specified area is reversed in the 2nd image storage means 114 and the 1st mask data are reversed; and a display effective area is decided with the 2nd mask data stored in the 2nd mask storage means 116 and the display effective area which are not the display pixels of the 1st mask data in the 1st mask storage means 115 are rewritten into display pixels. |
