摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To prevent deterioration of liquid crystals by suppressing the jump voltage generated on the source side of a switching element for display control of liquid crystals so that a DC component is not impressed on the liquid crystals. CONSTITUTION:Alternately changing gate voltages are applied on the gate electrode of a thin-film transistor(TFT) to effect switching in the channel region between a drain region and a source region to form the driving voltage to be impressed to a pixel electrode. A parasitic capacitance blocking electrode 13 which is connected to an electrode 12 for an auxiliary capacitance and is formed extending to the boundary between the source region 15c and the channel region 15a is disposed in a gate insulating film 14 between the source region 15c and gate electrode G of the TFT. Thereby, the parasitic capacitance generated thus far between the source and gate electrodes is removed and the source voltage waveform outputted from the TFT is not made asymmetric by the jump voltage and also the DC component is not impressed on the liquid crystals, accordingly the deterioration of the liquid crystals can be prevented.</p>
