PURPOSE:To provide a replying mechanism capable of corresponding to an application format by the quantity of operation less than that of a conventional replaying function. CONSTITUTION:When the contents of a mail are edited by a mail displaying/ editing device 102 and replay destination selecting information is acquired by a replay destination selecting information acquiring device 103, a replay only to a replaying mail transmitting party or replies to the transmitting party and all destinations can be attained by three stages of operation, i.e., mail contents edition, replay specification and destination selection. Since the electronic mail system is provided with a replay destination selecting information setting device 106 and a replay destination selecting information storing device 105 and the device 103 is provided with a replay destination selecting information reading means 125, a system for automatically setting up a transmitting party as a replay destination and executing replaying operation a system automatically making the replay destination into the transmitting party and all the destinations, and a system for confirming whether a replay is to be sent only to the transmitting party or sent to the transmitting party and all destinations can be properly used in each replay. |
