<p>IGF and IGFBP are administered to stimulate new bone formation in subjects with bone loss due to bone marrow disorders, connective tissue disorders, drugs, pregnancy, lactation, chronic hypophosphatemia, hyperphosphatasia, insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus, anorexia nervosa, cadmium poisoning, juvenile osteoporosis, Paget's disease of bone, osteoarthritis and periodontal disease. IGF-I and IGFBP-3 are optionally combined with agents that inhibit bone resorption.</p> |
