The pin has a tough cover (5) which encloses a cellular and/or porous core which is pref. made from a thermoplastics material. The cover has at least one inner transverse wall (6) which divides the internal hollow space. The wall may extend at a right angle to the main axis or axis of rotation of the pin, and one or more walls may be located in the head or neck region. The pin may also have only one wall, located between the head and neck regions. The walls may be fitted with at least one ventilation opening which may also be located centrally.
