<p>A device comprising an actuating cylinder (10) having a piston (14) arranged to be driven along a stroke path therewithin and a valve means (50) for controlling the flow of actuating fluid to a first side (20) of the piston (14). This device is arranged such that upon actuation of the valve means (50) the flow of actuating fluid to the first side (20) of the piston (14) is stopped and wherein the pressure of the actuating fluid on the first side (20) of said piston (14) upon actuation of said valve means (50) is at least sufficient to substantially maintain the piston (14) in a first predetermined position along the stroke path.</p> |
