The invention relates to a weighing apparatus disposed on a support which can be moved during operation. The weighing apparatus is provided with a weighing platform which can move in the height direction and in which the products to be weighed can be placed during operation. The weighing platform is linked to a measuring element for determining the weight of the measuring platform and product(s) placed thereon. The weighing apparatus is further provided with a comparison member which is installed near the weighing platform, can be moved in the height direction and is linked to a further measuring element for determining the weight of the movable comparison member. Means are arranged for comparing the measured values from the two measuring elements.
