The servo unit (9) comprises an electric motor and reduction gearing. It is secured to the lower bracket of the seat hinge and has a hole (61) near the top of the reduction housing to clip over the hinge shaft (4) of the seat hinge. This accurately aligns the servo drive, with a support bracket to secure the unit. The locating hole is either a simple alignment aid or provided access to the reduction gearing for the hinge drive, via a splined end to the hinge shaft. Alternately a gear wheel (120 on the side of the reduction gearing is brought into mesh with the seat hinge drive.
