A container element (1) for a furniture item, comprising at least one thin-walled closeable support element being fillable with air or the like from a collapsed condition to an expanded condition, said element forming the support structure and/or a cushion for a piece of furniture as an arm-chair, a sofa, a bed or the like. The invention also concerns a furniture item including such elements, a method of manufacturing a thin-walled container and a device for adjusting such elements. Finally the invention comprises a closing device (52, 100) for a thin-walled container.
