Immunological detection of tumour markers, esp. thyroglobulin

Immunological detection of protein or polypeptide tumour markers (I) in a biological fluid sample comprises reaction with specific binding partner (II); generation of a measurement signal and evaluating this by reference to a standard curve, prepd. using standard samples and a zero standard. The new features is that determn. of (I) and prepn. of the standard curve are done with addn. of an exactly known amt. of (I) to the measurement soln. A sample having a measured value above the zero standard is positive (indicating presence and concn. of (I)) but any sample with a measured value below the zero standard indicates a methodical false measurement value.
