Automatic transmission with torque converter for motor vehicle
摘要
The automatic transmission has the engine driving the vehicle via a torque converter and controlled by a microprocessor. The actual parameters of the engine are measured, including torque and speed. Also monitored are the input and output speeds of the transmission and the corresponding vehicle speed. An empirical relation between engine dynamics, transmission ratio and vehicle speed is established and forms a reference program for the actual vehicle conditions. The inertial components of the transmission are computed and include the inertia of the engine and that of the transmission and torque converter. These are used by the microprocessor to modify the control of the transmission.
