A valve body (30) is mounted such that it can be displaced longitudinally in an elongate housing (12) and has two toroidal chambers (36), each of which communicates with a connecting branch of the housing (12) via a radial hole (28). In the neutral position a further, central radial bore (28), which communicates with a water supply, is blocked off relative to the toroidal chambers (36) by O-rings (38). A pivotable, wide-surfaced rocker (44) has two actuating extensions (50) which make contact with the end side of the valve body (30). By pivoting the rocker (44) the central radial hole (28) may be connected, as desired, in a communicating manner to each of the two outer radial holes (28).
