Sponge etc. for cleaning and disinfecting e.g. hospitals

A cleaning system comprising a device that gives a controlled liberation of hypochlorous acid is new. The device comprises a sponge of natural or synthetic material or other porous structure, in which is placed a semi-permeable container of sodium tri- or dichloro isocyanurate (NaTCC or NaDCC). Water slowly comes into contact with the NaTCC or NaDCC and liberates hypochlorous acid. If desired a detergent may be incorporated with the NaTCC or NaDCC.
