The process consists in the incorporation in the area of the fastening 4 of a mould 3, of a precut sheet of rubber 2 and a welt 1, the welt being placed inside the area 4 internally against the vertically emergent walls and in the central zone of the pretreated rubber sheet 2, the temperature of the vulcanizing mould 3 being raised until it reaches a temperature ranging between 100 and 1000, the assembly 5 formed by the welt 1 and the rubber sheet 2 later being removed and, in marginal operations, trimming (deburring) and sanding being carried out if necessary. <IMAGE>
