FOIL LINED SNAP-ON, SCREW-OFF CLOSURE

A tamper-evident, snap-on, screw-off closure (21) which is used with a specially shaped container neck (22) is provided with a foil liner (78). Once the closure (21) is applied to the neck (22), the foil liner (78) is sealed to the neck (22) of the container. The foil liner (78) includes a tab (80) for removal of the seal disc (78) from the neck (22). The closure (21) is characterized by the absence of a second liner between the top (54) of the cap (21) and the foil liner (78). The closure (21), neck (22) and the foil liner (78) are formed to inhibit adherence of the tab (80) to the cap interior and the neck exterior.
