PURPOSE:To accurately grasp the layout of a character or a decoration frame to be practically printed out. CONSTITUTION:A required document is inputted and a decoration frame is set up by depressing an edition key for inputting alphabets or the like and a line format setting key. When an image key is depressed, the printing state of document data on a tape is approximately displayed on a liquid crystal display 5. Namely a tape frame 91 is displayed on the outermost side and black rectangles 93a to 93f corresponding to the sizes of respective characters are displayed on respective positions corresponding to printing positions on the tape on the inside of the frame 91. A decoration frame is displayed by a rectangle 95a surrounding a block and black rectangles 95c, 95b corresponding to right and left patterns. |
