<p>A deodorizing/antimicrobial/moldproofing agent which comprises chitosan, plant extracts and inorganic substances such as zeolite and which can impart a composite function of deodorization, microbial resistance and moldproofness in a single dosage form to various textile and plastic products by spraying, coating, milling, or other means. This agent comprises an aqueous solution prepared by mixing water with chitosan and adding to the resulting mixture plant extracts such as persimmon leaf extract and soybean meal extract in the presence of a catalyst comprising an aqueous solution of a cyclodextrin clathrate of a natural organic acid. Examples of the natural organic acid inlcude a component of soybean meal extract, a component of the extract from the leaves and fruits of theaceous plants such as tea, a component of persimmon leaf and fruit extract, and pyroligneous acid, each having deodorizing, antimicrobial and moldproofing effects. This liquid agent is infiltrated into textile products to impart thereto the above-mentioned composite function. Further it is pulverized and milled into plastics to impart thereto the same composite function.</p> |
