The package comprises a mounting strip (4) which has a large number of recesses (6), slits etc. holding the components (2) in parallel positions. A covering strip (5) on the opposite side extends over the components, and is torn or detached from the mounting strip. The latter can be of channel-section, with parallel ribs (7,8) extending from the rear portion (9) and containing recesses in which the components fit. The recesses can widen towards the free edges (10) of the ribs, or can be of U-shaped section when seen in plan view.
